What We Do

We Partner with the Local Church

The power of this ministry comes from the combined effort of our team and mentors in churches all across the country.
Strong Marriages' marriage mentoring process helps local churches establish a marriage mentoring ministry by guiding and assisting them in identifying, recruiting and training future marriage mentors. Once trained, all mentor couples are supported with videos, exercises and additional mentoring resources, all located on our unprecedented online support system.

What makes our mentoring distinctive?

  1. Strong biblical emphasis: When it comes to helping spouses in their marriage, we strongly believe if it doesn't begin with God and His design for marriage, it simply won't work. Transferring effective communication and conflict resolution skills are important, and we teach them all throughout the mentoring process. However, these skills are always more effective when they are learned from a biblical perspective, so we take time up front finding out what Scripture has to say.

  2. Intentional Process: To be effective long-term, the mentoring process must be relationally transferred through a well-defined process. If not, discipleship ultimately becomes more of a social gathering over coffee. Because the primary goal is for mentee couples to eventually become mentors, without an intentional process, mentee couples feel less confident to effectively share what is learned with a future mentee couple. Generational growth becomes less likely when this occurs.

  3. Mentor Support System (MSS): Since 2006, we have partnered with churches and their marriage mentors. Pastors and ministers throughout America and in Canada can attest that our objective is not to simply sell resources. The MSS offers well-structured management tools, role play videos of what mentors can expect in every mentoring session, online session reports and a myriad of other support resources for church leadership and mentor couples.
