Steps for beginning a marriage mentoring ministry in your church or organization. 

  1. The first step is to identify the Staff Champion that will provide oversight for the Marriage Mentors Ministry and the Ministry Coordinator couple(s) who will serve as the lead couple(s) for the Mentoring Ministry.
  2. The second step is to invite potential Mentor couples to an informational meeting in your church where they can learn the details of Marriage Mentors and determine future involvement. (Marriage Mentors can provide a PowerPoint presentation for use at the informational meeting.)
  3. Couples expressing a desire to become marriage mentors schedule to attend a one-day training. Currently there are three options for Marriage Mentor Training:

    • Attend a Marriage Mentors Training Workshop at the Strong Marriages office in Dallas, TX. Trainings are scheduled based on demand.
    • Schedule a Marriage Mentors Trainer to your church (required min. of 6 couples).
    • Attend a Marriage Mentors Training Workshop hosted by one of our partnering churches led by a Marriage Mentor Trainer.
